IDM Partners with Avani Resort and Casino

Institute of Development Management (IDM) is connecting its graduates with industry professionals to give them practical experience and further create job opportunities for them as they enter the world of work.

IDM Senior Consultant under Business & Information Resource Management’s Travel & Tourism programme, Catherine Kebakile says IDM recently entered into a partnership with one of the well-recognised hospitality businesses in Botswana, Avani Resort and Casino for Institute’s third year students to do their practicums and get industry exposure.

DM Targets Local Authorities with New Product

The quest to offer customers relevant solutions continues to intensify as IDM prepares to launch the Centre for Local Governance in the imminent future. The soon-to-be released programme will provide a one-stop-shop for the Local Government authorities to be equipped with appropriate knowledge and skills to deliver superior service to their constituencies across Botswana.

IDM Academic Council meets in Gaborone

Institute of Development Management (IDM) Academic Council recently met in Botswana to discuss matters pertaining to training, education, research and consultancy.

Comprising of academics representing the academic diversity and some members of the  Student Representative Council of the Institute from Botswana, Lesotho and Eswatini, the Council is the principal policy-making and advisory body on all IDM’s academic matters.

IDM Francistown Campus Relocates

The much-awaited relocation of the Institute of Development Management (IDM) Francistown campus will take place in July this year. The campus is currently located at the Light Industrial Area and will be moving to Botho Park in Block 10.

IDM Lesotho Campus Participates in The 9TH Annual Career Expo 2018

Mind Liberation Psychology Consultancy and Forum for Career Awareness Association organized a four day Career Expo from Tuesday 03 April to Friday 06 2017, in the four districts of Lesotho. The aim of the expo was to provide career guidance to high school students to enable them to make informed decisions when choosing their careers in the future. It commenced in Mokhotlong, followed by Leribe, then Mohale’shoek and ended Maseru.

IDM officiates at Southern District Council Inaugural Awards Ceremony

IDM’s Information Technology Manager, Jimmy Kwati says public service in Botswana plays an important role in the lives of Batswana. Speaking at the Southern District Council Inaugural Awards Ceremony recently, Kwati commended the Council for recognizing its Service Stars for going the extra mile in service delivery to its customers.

Held under the theme, Nurturing Champions Towards Quality Service Delivery, the awards recognized creativity, innovation and excellence. Kwati said without employees, no organization can achieve its core mandate of dispensing services.

Namibia Business School and IDM Mou Signing

IDM signed an MOU with Namibia Business School (NBS) to offer the MBA and DBA programmes. This MOU is an extension from the first one which was signed in 2014. The agreement now includes all three IDM campuses whereby the MBA and DBA will be offered.

IDM and FTS signing Memorandum of Understanding

IDM Eswatini signed an MOU with Fiduciary Trusteeship Services (FTS) a wholly Swati owned entity that provides professional trustee and training services. This partnership also opens up other training avenues in areas of retirement funds related courses like; Retirement planning for HR practitioners, financial welfare and other employee benefits related training.

Lesotho takes over Chairmanship of Regional Board of Governors

Dr Thabiso Lebese is the new Chairman of the IDM Regional Board of Governors. He took over the chairmanship from Eswatini’s Evart Madlopha. The regional board met in Lesotho in March to discuss the Institute’s strategic map and also appreciate progress on the 2016 – 2021 strategy.

Regional Director Richard Malikongwa, says the Board of Governors meets three times a year to discuss and appreciate progress of the Institute’s strategic roadmap. During the recent meeting, the Board also wanted to affirm the importance Lesotho makes to the tripartite governments.

IDM Women Attend the Buganu Ceremony by Nontobeko Dlamini

Thousands of women from all corners of Eswatini descended at the Hlane Royal residence for the festival from the 9th-11th of March 2018.  IDM Lutsango (women) also attended this year’s installment of the Buganu ceremony a cultural festival held for married women annually in Eswatini. The Buganu ceremony has been around for a very long time, it comes once a year in the months of February and March. It takes place in the two major regions of the country were the “buganu” Marula fruit is found in abundance.
