The long awaited Botswana Social Studies Association (BOSSA) National Fair finally took place in Palapye last week Friday 23rd September 2022 at Mabogo Junior Secondary School.
Officiating at the event, the Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary, Policy Development, Research and Education Reforms in the Ministry of Education and Skills Development Ms.Louis Ngope, commended BOSSA and IDM for creating an opportunity to engage learners academically. She said fairs are also critical to the social development of young people.

The Institute of Development Management in Eswatini trained over 40 senior government officials over 2 weeks in a training themed “Excellence in Public Service.”
The first week was targeted at UnderSecretaries in the different Government Ministries.
The second week was for Principal Secretaries, joining them were senior officials from Civil Service Commission, Royal Eswatini Police Service, His Majesty’s Correctional Services and Anti Corruption Commission.
Management of IDM Lesotho welcomes the Vice Chancellor and Rector of the University of the Free State (UFS) Prof. Francis Petersen and his delegation, inclusive of the Dean of International Affairs, Dr Cornelius Hangernmeier. During this courtesy visit, the discussion focused on forging strategic partnership for the mutual benefit of the two organisations. The main aim is to maximize synergies necessary to ensure academic excellence and industry impact in the SADC region.

The role of the Students Welfare Office at the Institute of Development Management (IDM) is to enhance the learner’s experience and the development of well-rounded graduates with highly esteemed professional values and qualities to position them for the world of work. The Office conducts a variety of interventions intended to build and nature students during their journey to transition from high school to the university environment.

As part of its students’ engagement plan, 150 IDM students led by the Students Representative Council took part in the Mascom Batanani Charity Walk this past weekend in Francistown. Students participated as volunteers and marshals to facilitate the smooth running of the event. Their efforts support the Institute’s Corporate Social Responsibility program which include promoting diversity and inclusion. This year’s event was aimed at raising funds for the Centre for the Deaf, an organization which is also one of IDM’s strategic partners. The theme for this year was: ‘Support Deaf people’.
Institute of Development Management (IDM) hosted scores of First Year Students at its campuses in Gaborone and Francistown on Tuesday 23rd August 2022 and Thursday 25th August 2022 respectively. The events helped Management to welcome new students into their first year at college.
IDM Eswatini is located in Kwaluseni area next to Ludzeludze in Matsapha. One of IDM’s students was sponsored by the Preach the Word International Ministries Church of Ludzeludze. The student later dropped out during the scourge of COVID-19 due to lack of financial resources. After a visit from the pastor of the church the Country Director Dr NO Mabila saw it fit for IDM to pay a visit to the local neighbouring church. During the church visit Dr Mabila thanked the congregants for putting money together to fund the student at IDM; which is a rare and noble action by the church.
On the 4th of February 2021, IDM in partnership with the North-West University’s African Centre for Disaster Studies (ACDS) and Ezulwini Municipality officially entered into a relationship in which IDM was to provide consultancy services for a comprehensive disaster risk assessment and development of a disaster risk management plan. The intention of the project was to address challenges that may be due to hazards leading to risks that ultimately threatens life and property, which hampers development.
