IDM facilitates Senior Government official’s workshop

The Institute of Development Management in Eswatini trained over 40 senior government officials over 2 weeks in a training themed “Excellence in Public Service.”
The first week was targeted at UnderSecretaries in the different Government Ministries.
The second week was for Principal Secretaries, joining them were senior officials from Civil Service Commission, Royal Eswatini Police Service, His Majesty’s Correctional Services and Anti Corruption Commission.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the training Chairman of the CSC Com. Simanga Mamba said  Government employees have to have a commitment to improving service delivery. Public service PS Sipho Tsabedze who is also IDM board Chair mentioned the need to change the culture in Public Service and expressed the need to move to excellence to ensure quality is delivered in public service. Closing the workshop was His Honourable Deputy Prime Minister Themba Masuku who thanked the facilitators and the sponsor for the workshop who was UNDP. Speaking at the closing event UNDP representative said they were glad to partner with Government for training and this was the start of other training initiatives that will improve service delivery in ministries.
