Last Friday, 3 December, the Institute of Development Management (IDM) in partnership with SOS Children’s Village held a graduation ceremony for the Kindergarten Class of 2021.
The event, held at Adansonia Hotel in Francistown, saw 14 brilliant young minds receive their well-deserved pathright to Primary School.
In his welcome remarks, IDM Francistown Campus Manager, Elijah Moakofhi warned the youngsters that they are growing up at a time when the world is facing great challenges.
Our Student Mr Gaolalwe keabetswe Kethobogile who is a 4th Year student and studying BSc in Public Health Management attended BFA Refereeing Education Course organized by BOTESSA in partnership with BFA on the 28th June 2021- 2nd July 2022.
He never looked back and had been training with a team of FIFA national referees and recently passed the Fitness Test on the 22/09/2021 which qualifies him to officiate in soccer league games and tournaments organized by Botswana Football Association (BFA).
The Institute of Development Management (IDM) in partnership with Eswatini Revenue Service (ERS) recently launched the Freight Forwarding and Customs Compliance Certificate programme which will be offered from January 2022 at IDM.
The launch was graced by the Commissioner General of ERS Mr Dumisani Masilela, PS Public Service and IDM board chair Mr Tsabedze, the Association of Clearing Agents Mr Jabu Vilakati and the EU representative Nomfundo Dlamini.
IDM has entered a contract with BTC to supply current active IDM students with 1GB of Corporate Internet. Students will use the same Internet being provided to IDM Main Campus, through BTC SIM Cards wherever there are BTC Mobile services. The SIM Cards are loaded with 1GB/day of Internet data and 60 minutes /month of free voice services, and the voice services are limited to the closed IDM SIM Cards group. Know Your Customer (KYC) links were provided for students to fill before they could be given the SIM Cards and so far, more than 3500 students have been issued with the SIM Cards.
IDM held a 5 days short course in Occupational Health and Safety this past week. This course offers an overview of potential and existing health and safety hazards that could undermine the productivity targets of the enterprise, the increasing awareness of the employees’ rights to health and safety at work and the need for organizations to comply with International Standards as well as the Lesotho Labour Code and the importance of sound occupational health and safety practices.
This Past week, our Training Staff participated in a two(2) day assessment training facilitated by members of Lesotho College of Education. The purpose of the training is continue to acquit participants with skills necessary for effective assessment items. This is an activity that is conducted periodically to ensure that we deliver quality education to our learners.
IDM recently conducted a one week short course training for LEC staff in Tender evaluation. The 5 days course is ideal for procurement professionals as well as senior staff members. It assists with skills capacity in helping members to reduce costs as well as reputational risks to the organization. Attendees are also given skills that help the organization to manage procurement activities through acquiring the right goods of the precise quantity, at the right time, delivered at the right place.
