Wednesday, August 17, 2022 - 10:30

On the 4th of February 2021, IDM in partnership with the North-West University’s African Centre for Disaster Studies (ACDS) and Ezulwini Municipality officially entered into a relationship in which IDM was to provide consultancy services for a comprehensive disaster risk assessment and development of a disaster risk management plan. The intention of the project was to address challenges that may be due to hazards leading to risks that ultimately threatens life and property, which hampers development. Through the outcomes of the project, it is expected that Ezulwini will be having information for appropriate decision making, which will lead to mitigating risks and hazards while improving disaster preparedness. IDM’s involvement has contributed to the institutions capacity, following that the project was coordinated locally by the Business Development Office, supported by the Discipline of Public Health Management. The plan was officially presented for review and validation  to the municipal stakeholders during a breakfast meeting held at Happy Valley Hotel in Ezulwini in August 2022.
