A Night to Remember: IDM-E 2023 Fresher’s Ball

 
The Student Representative Committee (SRC) hosted the 2023 Fresher’s Ball event to welcome their freshmen to the Institution.
 Every aspect of the event was tailored to ignite the spirits and passion of our first year students, making it a day etched indelibly in their hearts as they start their college life. Attendees on the day all looked exquisite dressed in their vivid array of colours, matched with smiles and boundless excitement as they came to bear witness to the enthralling event.
Highlights of the day included the crowning of this year’s Mr and Miss Fresher’s. This segment of the event serves as a platform where contestants can showcase their skills, confidence, and charisma, build self-esteem and create life long memories for themselves. Participating students had to take the runway in front of a pane l of judges, who decided on the victors
Victors on the day included; Nowethu Vilakati who was crowned as this year’s Miss IDM, her 1st Princess, Zama Msibi and the 2nd Princess was Tenele Dlamini. Banele Mabuza is this year’s Mr IDM, coming just short was Ncedo Gumbi, who was crowned as the 1st Prince and the 2nd Prince was Nkosephayo Dlamini.
 This year none of the contestants went home empty handed, everyone received a gift for their valued participation on the pageant. Speakers on the day included our Registrar Mr.  Andreas Kunene, who thanked everyone for making the event a success, also congratulating the victors on their awards.
