Bobana Badisang is a Librarian at IDM with a wealth of knowledge in documentation of grey literature, publishing, media & the book trade and services for higher education. With a fine skill in abstracting and indexing, she has been involved in bibliographic studies in her mandate of providing access to knowledge to enrich research. Bobana has produced subject bibliographies on pertinent issues in Botswana, among them Environment; Women and Gender Issues; Adult Education.  She is currently carrying out a bibliographical study on Patrick van Rensburg, Botswana’s pioneer of Education with Production (EwP) with a view to enhancing knowledge resources in entrepreneurial education. She has had functional literary fiction works published, edited works for a number of local and multinational publishing houses, reviewed books and free-lanced as correspondent for a number of local independent media houses. Her poetry has been published in Millennium Moment: Anthology of African Verse, and a number of local journals. She previously coordinated the Open Access movement in Botswana. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Science Professionals (CILIP, London), former chairperson of Botswana Library Association, trustee of Mmegi Publishing Trust and the Foundation for Education with Production.  She previously served as a teacher before joining the Library and Information profession, as documentalist at National Institute of Research and Documentation (NIR), subject librarian at UB, director, National Library Service. She holds a Master of Arts in Library and information Systems (UCL, London); PG Dip. Information Studies (Polytechnic of North London); PG.D. LIS; Bachelor of Arts +CDE (specialising in English & Environmental Science, University of Botswana).
