Institute of Development Management (IDM) emerged as the overall winners in the Education sector at the just ended Business Botswana Northern Trade Fair 2022. In a closely contested category comprising of giants of the education industry, IDM proved to be the undisputable pacesetters of the education sector in Botswana by scooping position one.
The fair was held on the 25-29th May in Francistown under the theme “Accelerating The Rise Of A Digital Economy”. The main aim of the Fair was to provide exhibitors with an opportunity to actively promote their businesses. In addition, the fair presented a significant opportunity for business branding and creation of new product visibility and promote existing products.
Speaking at the awards ceremony that was held at the newly constructed conference centre for Adansonia Hotel, the IDM Francistown Campus Manager Mr Elijah Moakofhi was overjoyed. ‘This award is a true reflection of the work we have put in place as an institution, moreover, it somewhat solidifies our presence and dominance in Francistown. We first opened our doors in 2014 and we are really happy at the way northerners have embraced us. This award goes to everyone in the north and to all our students’, said Moakofhi.
The Institution capitalised on this year’s fair to promote its programme offerings as it is still enrolling students for the July 2022 intake. The fair also provided secondary school pupils to learn on the courses offered at IDM to ready them for tertiary education. Businesses to business meetings were also held to kick-start possible partnerships, for corporate trainings and consultancies.
IDM offers both long term and short term trainings under its four three main faculties of Business Information and Resource Management, Human Resource and Organisational Development and the Public Health faculty. The institute offers Certificates, Diplomas, Degrees and Postgraduate programmes on fulltime and part-time (block release) basis through its Gaborone and Francistown Campuses.
