IDM PARTNERS WITH BOTSWANA LABOUR MIGRANTS ASSOCIATION(BOLAMA)

Dr Onalenna Seitio-Kgokgwe, IDM Country Director says IDM is collaborating with BOLAMA to build capacity and improve livelihoods of BOLAMA beneficiaries through training, research and consultancy. BOLAMA is an association established to uplift lives of current and former migrant mine workers and their families.
“Through this partnership, IDM will support BOLAMA in conducting a needs assessment to understand the actual situation on the ground, identify socio-cultural factors affecting their beneficiaries as well as the regulatory landscape for programs that might benefit them. We have agreed to develop capacity building programs through formal training, coaching and mentoring, including entrepreneurship up-skilling,” she explained, adding that they will jointly seek opportunities for research on issues of interest that will benefit their constituents.
