IDM mourns Sipho Mbebe

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the untimely passing of IDM Director of Corporate Services, Mr Sipho Baphethuxolo Mbebe. He passed away on Sunday 2nd July 2023. Mr Mbebe has been a valuable member of the IDM ExCo since his appointment in July 2008 as the Director of Corporate Services.
Mr Mbebe has contributed immensely to the growth and success of IDM as a regional body, providing strategic leadership in the corporate services function, ensuring development and implementation of strategies to support the people agenda. He directed and coordinated shared services activities to facilitate seamless business operations in the three countries of Botswana, Lesotho and Eswatini (BOLESWA).
He also served as Board Secretary for our Regional Board of Directors, ensuring that IDM complies with statutory instruments in BOLESWA. Additionally, Mr Mbebe managed linkages and synergies between and among the various IDM stakeholders.
He held MSc Human Resource Management from the University of Salford, United Kingdom and BA Social Sciences Degree in Political Science and Public Administration from the University of Botswana. In addition to his academic qualifications, Mr Mbebe had extensive training in human capital management, industrial relations, performance management, job evaluation, IT, industrial relations, team building, pension management, balanced scorecard, corporate governance and report writing.
While we mourn his passing, we equally celebrate his life and the milestones he has achieved.
May the family of Mr Mbebe find peace and solace in the Lord, and may his soul find eternal rest.
