The much-awaited relocation of the Institute of Development Management (IDM) Francistown campus will take place in July this year. The campus is currently located at the Light Industrial Area and will be moving to Botho Park in Block 10.

IDM Country Director, Dr Onalenna Seitio-Kgokgwe said as a responsible corporate citizen driven by the spirit of collaboration, IDM has partnered with Botho University in Francistown to respond to the rising needs of the northerners for quality education under one roof. The two institutions, which are both ISO Certified will therefore occupy Botho Park as immediate neighbours in their quest to close the skills gap in Botswana.  Over and above sharing the facility, IDM and Botho University intend to collaborate more on areas of training, research and consultancy going forward.

“We are harnessing our networks and partnerships to respond to the needs of our customers. In Francistown, we are collaborating with Botho University to enhance the quality of the teaching-learning processes through a conducive environment that promotes a positive learner experience for our customers and learners in the north,” she explained.

At Botho Park, IDM will provide high-tech, safer and secure environment with outdoor sporting capacity for recreation. Furthermore, the Institute will provide learners with up-market hostel accommodation and give them a conducive learning environment for perfect and memorable study duration at the Institute.

A similar working model exists between IDM and Boitekanelo College in Swaziland where the two institutions have partnered to share the IDM facility and offer students Diploma in Emergency Medical Care under the Public Health programme.

IDM was established to assist in providing training to public service employees to deliver quality service to the public at the time when Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland gained independence over four decades ago.
