IDM CONDUCTS FOOD SAFETY AND HYGIENE MANAGEMENT TRAINING FOR FOOD OUTLETS

Under its Travel and Tourism program, IDM is offering hotels, restaurants, individuals and food handlers training on Food Safety and Hygiene Management. The training is designed to help them understand basic food safety and hygiene, and further appraise them on the fundamentals of food laws.
Country Director, Botswana Dr Onalenna Seitio-Kgokgwe revealed that the course is one of the many solutions offered under IDMs Centre for Continuing and Professional Development program.
“Evidence has shown that food establishments in general do not observe essential requirements for safe and hygienic handling, preparation and serving of food. Because food is important to the wellbeing of people, we found it fit to develop a product that will remind food handlers of proper storage, preparation, cooking and proper serving of food,” she said.
