The session took place at the Hilton Garden Inn in Mbabane. The session was held to allow government to appreciate the various programmes IDM offers including short term interventions as well as the long courses. The Regional Director also allayed his value proposition of all the benefits of engaging the Institute to address skills gaps in the various ministries. The regionality of the Institute allows for a wider variety of skills to be tapped into by the government. IDM is ready and willing to meet the needs of its stakeholders- this was reiterated by the Country Director Dr Ndiphethe Mabila in his remarks.
Present at the event were the IDM Board of Governors PS Ministry of Public Service Mr Sipho Tsabedze who opened the session and the PS Ministry of Education Mr Bheki Gama who made the closing remarks. Other Board members were also in attendance Ms Sindi Mango and Professor Joubert.
Speaking at the event, PS and IDM board chairperson Sipho Tsabedze said, “Over the years IDM as a collective has partnered with many local, regional and international institutions to improve product offering and diversity. The partnerships targeted training networks, universities, qualifications awarding bodies and industries. Partnerships are prioritized and sustained to strengthen the practical and applied learning approach. The Institute’s growth has been closely monitored and supported by the tripartite Governments. An investment in Quality Management Systems and International Standards Organizations certification is a commitment to ensure IDM is more than just a name but a competitive quality service provider of the present times. IDM continues to be aligned to many quality service standards of training authorities and accreditation bodies. We have survived many challenges and fight hard to stand tall in the face of relentless competition over the years.”
