Botswana Campus has been certified BOS ISO 9001: 2015. IDM was lauded for the great feat, and described as ‘a deserving institution’ by the Botswana Bureau of Standards (BOBS) Director, Commercial Enterprises, Mr Keeper Morgan. He said the certification enhances an organization’s credibility by showing customers that its products and services meet their expectations.
“With this certification, IDM has the opportunity to have streamlined processes ensuring uniformity; improved productivity and reduction in non-complying products or services; reduction in operational costs as prudent financial and operational management remain the cornerstone of ISO 9001:2015 through measurement,” he said, further stating that BOBS is equally delighted that IDM chose them as a business partner on this journey of quality assurance.
“Today is a historic moment for the Institute. This certification covers the scope of Education, Training, Research, Consulting and support services. IDM is the 44th client on the BOBS certification register to date, joining more than 2.1 million other already certified organisations worldwide,” he shared, commending the Institute for the effort and commitment demonstrated throughout the process of acquiring the Quality Management System.

Delivering keynote message, IDM Regional Director and Chief Executive, Mr Samkelo Lushaba said the Institute has developed and rolled out a strategic roadmap designed to support the vision of its founding member states Botswana, Lesotho and Eswatini.
“This achievement is not a one day event, but a culmination of hard work that the Botswana team had to go through. For us, this is not just a statistic, but a  life-long journey,” stated Mr Lushaba.
He said the attainment of the certification by the Botswana Campus is consistent with IDM corporate values of integrity, innovation, professionalism, diversity and excellence. “This is the beginning of a journey, we have attained it, now we need to sustain it and ensure that we do not lose it. This should be an inspiration to our sister campuses in Eswatini and Lesotho. This marks a commitment to a quality culture, and this is a priority across all three countries. Congratulations to Botswana Campus for attaining such a significant milestone!”
IDM Country Director (Botswana), Dr Theophilus Mooko said the journey to certification began in 2020 and saw commitment and dedication by all stakeholders to earn the accolade.Dr Mooko reiterated that whilst the Campus celebrates this achievement, it must at the same time reflect deeply on what it means, and what changes and improvements must be done in the way the institution does business. “To continue meeting expectations of our students, staff, regulators, parents, government and other stakeholders, it is necessary to adopt a new culture, a Quality culture,” he concluded.
