Abigail Hlabano is the Human Resources & Organizational Development (HR & OD) Discipline Coordinator. She joined IDM in June 2019 as Senior Consultant in the HR & OD Department. She is a Lecturer of Communication and Academic Writing Skills, Professional Communication, Instruction and Curriculum Development and Public Relations in IDM. Abigail Hlabano also teaches Masters students under the IDM and University of Bolton partnership. She is a trainer of Communication under IDM Centre for Continuing Professional Development. Abigail is an educator of note, having covered various areas of education within the Botswana Education System. She was formerly a Lecturer at the University of Botswana, teaching Communication & Academic Literacy; Professional Communication and Introduction to Legal Language. She has worked as a Secondary School Teacher in several schools in Botswana. She has provided support to teachers as an In-service Officer for teachers in Gantsi – Maun Region; and a Curriculum Development Officer including assessment at PSLE, JC, Cambridge O’ Level and BGCSE. Abigail has also worked at the Attorney General’s Chambers and the Ministry of Communication Science and Technology as a Public Relations Practitioner. As a seasoned PR professional, one of her notable contributions was conducting the publicity of the 40th Anniversary of Independence of Botswana, as a member of the Task Force. She holds a Master of Education from Murdoch University – (Australia, 2002) with focus on the Development of Curriculum and Instruction in the area of English as a Second Language; Post – Graduate Diploma in Public Relations from Deakin University (Australia, 2012); BA Humanities (1996), DSE Humanities(1986) and Certificate in School Librarianship(1989) from the University of Botswana.
