Ms Gosego Pilane is IDM board member representing the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Research, Science and Technology (MOTE).  Ms Pilane’s legal career began in 2007 when she joined the Attorney General’s Chambers. She has held several positions in various Divisions of the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC); including Prosecutor in the Directorate of Public Prosecutions, State Counsel in the Civil Litigation Division. She rose through the ranks and became the Principal Assistant Registrar of Deeds in the Deeds Registry. Currently she holds the position of Chief State Counsel in the International and Commercial Division and serves as a member of the executive and Legal Advisor to MOTE. Her responsibilities at MOTE encompass general legal matters, governance, risk and compliance, contract negotiation and drafting, preparation of international legal instruments, employee relations and other labour matters.
Ms Pilane also serves as a member of the AGC’s performance focal office where she is tasked with data collation, analysis and preparation of divisional performance reports and gives inputs to high level documents as requested. She is also a member of the Smart Botswana Team (SmartBots) which is Botswana’s Digital Transformation Team whose mandate is to implement the country’s digital transformation initiative as envisaged by Vision 2036.
Ms Pilane holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Botswana, a Certificate in Enterprise Risk Management from the Botswana Accountancy College as well as a Diploma in Banking from the Botswana Banking Institute.
