IDM facilitates Systems Thinking workshop for DHMTs

Institute of Development Management (IDM) on the 19th and 20th of May 2022 hosted a Systems Thinking for Strengthening District Health Systems Dissemination workshop in Palapye, aimed at sharing a comprehensive overview of the  project.
The Systems Thinking for District Health Strengthening (ST-DHS) project is a multi-country collaboration Initiative involving three countries- Botswana, Pakistan and Timor-Leste. 

IDM signs Mou with NDMA for Disaster Risk Management programme

The Institute of Development Management signed an Mou with the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA). Part of the objectives of the Mou is to develop professional academic programmes on disaster risk management. The main goal is to develop capacity on disaster risk reduction in Eswatini. This will go a long way in increasing the number of people with requisite skills for effective disaster risk reduction and management. The Mou was signed at the NDMA offices in Mbabane.

IDM Short Course Training Lesotho High School

IDM is currently conducting a one week short course programme in Management and Leadership Training for Lesotho High School Staff.

This is a course aimed at equipping Middle Managers with the skills that forge & sustain good team orientation and communication skills through results orientation, mentoring and coaching, effective decision making and problem solving, robust talent management and optimal resources’ utilization.

IDM APPOINTS DR MOEKETSI J LETELE AS NEW LESOTHO COUNTRY DIRECTOR

Dr Letele is a successful professional with 18 years of experience in Corporate Governance, Business Administration, Education and Quality Assurance in Lesotho. 
 
He joins IDM from the Council on Higher Education (CHE) where he served as Acting Director of Quality Assurance and Standards. He has served in the position of Principal Quality Assurance and Standards Officer.
 

SRC Inauguration 2022

Today Friday 18th March 2022 IDM Lesotho campus celebrated the inauguration of the Student Representative Committee (SRC) for the year 2022.

In his speech Dr. Moeketsi Letele, Country Director Lesotho campus thanked the outgoing SRC for the role they undertook to become a trusted body that acted as strong linkage between management and the students.

He further Urged the incoming SRC to be familiar with the new strategic plan of the institute and uphold it with pride as well as to lead with examples.

SAMKELO LUSHABA APPOINTED IDM REGIONAL DIRECTOR & CEO

As its Academic body convenes in Eswatini this week, the Institute of Development Management (IDM) has announced executive leadership changes. As the term for the current Regional Director and Chief Executive, Richard Malikongwa draws to an end, IDM is announcing the appointment of Mr Samkelo Lushaba of Eswatini.

IDM Eswatini visits Mozambique

The Country Director of the Eswatini campus led a delegation to Mozambique in February to meet with officials from Instituto medio de ciencias documentais an Institute based in Maputo.
The institute is a public institution which currently has about 100 students in its care. It has about 20 teachers working there on a part time basis and 3 on full time. Joining IDM was a representative from the embassy of Eswatini in Mozambique Mr Dlamini who said there are numerous opportunities for partnerships between Eswatini based institutions and those in Mozambique.
 

The journey that placed IDM on industry-driven mission

Institute for Development (IDM) Regional Director and Chief Executive, ,Richard Malikongwa reflects on his journey as he prepares to hand over the baton to Eswatini national following his six years with the institution. The Regional Director position rotates around the three founding countries of Botswana, Lesotho and Eswatini.  He acknowledges that this has been a journey underpinned by the quest to make IDM an institution focused on responding to the needs of the ever changing industry. 
 

WORLD READ ALOUD DAY- 2ND FEBRUARY 2022

Every year the first Wednesday of February is World Read Aloud Day (WRAD). People all over the world read aloud together and share stories as a way to advocate for literacy as a human right that belongs to all people. Reading aloud to children has a foundational impact on their learning, listening and reading skills. Building a connection between the spoken and written words, and strengthens a child’s cognition. Participants select a book, find a friend and read aloud. The day also encourages parents to read aloud to their children.
