IDM Early Childhood programme’s SOS Kindergarten graduates little stars

Friday 18th November 2022 was a special day at IDM Francistown Campus. Our Early Childhood programme's SOS kindergarten school graduated 26 learners in readiness for Standard One in 2023.
The graduation event, which was themed “Nurture for Success” was held at Adanansonia Hotel.
IDM and SOS are in partnership to provide practical training for Early Childhood learners as part of their preparation to enter the world of work.
The graduates are the second group to be released to the market following the one that graduated in 2021. 
 

ONGOING AND UPCOMING SHORT COURSES AT IDM ESWATINI

Alongside long-term courses, IDM Eswatini offers short-term courses that are designed to help address skills gaps and enhance their proffessions. IDM has conducted two (2) short-term courses in October for which employees from various organizations have enrolled. These courses are namely, Safety Health and Environmental (SHE) Representative and First- Aid respectively. These courses were aimed at enabling learners to understand the objectives and statutory requirements pertaining to health and safety in the workplace and puts them in a better position to save lives.

Stakeholder Engagement Seminar

The IDM Regional Office hosted a Stakeholder engagement seminar yesterday at Avani Lesotho.
The aim of this auspicious event was to engage with decision makers in the parastatal and private sector on issues surrounding skills gaps in the market through consultation means and coming up with remedies to mitigate these shortages through IDM service offerings.

Career Guidance Clinic for Standard Lesotho Bank Staff

IDM is proud to have participated in a two day long career guidance clinic hosted for Standard Lesotho Bank Staff Members this past weekend.

Participants were given an opportunity to learn more about the institution's offerings as they plan their capacity building and personal skills development.

IDM and Botswana Social Studies Association hold a successful virtual national fair

The long awaited Botswana Social Studies Association (BOSSA) National Fair finally took place in Palapye last week Friday 23rd September 2022 at Mabogo Junior Secondary School.
Officiating at the event, the Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary, Policy Development, Research and Education Reforms in the Ministry of Education and Skills Development Ms.Louis Ngope, commended BOSSA and IDM for creating an opportunity to engage learners academically. She said fairs are also critical to the social development of young people.

Career Guidance Session

IDM was proud to attend a student career guidance session at Naledi High School aimed at exposing leaners to career and academic opportunities that they can explore in the near future.

IDM facilitates Senior Government official’s workshop

The Institute of Development Management in Eswatini trained over 40 senior government officials over 2 weeks in a training themed “Excellence in Public Service.”
The first week was targeted at UnderSecretaries in the different Government Ministries.
The second week was for Principal Secretaries, joining them were senior officials from Civil Service Commission, Royal Eswatini Police Service, His Majesty’s Correctional Services and Anti Corruption Commission.

IDM welcomes UFS delegation

Management of IDM Lesotho welcomes the Vice Chancellor and Rector of the University of the Free State (UFS) Prof. Francis Petersen and his delegation, inclusive of the Dean of International Affairs, Dr Cornelius Hangernmeier. During this courtesy visit, the discussion focused on forging strategic partnership for the mutual benefit of the two organisations. The main aim is to maximize synergies necessary to ensure academic excellence and industry impact in the SADC region.
