Eswatini hosts Academic council & IPM mou signing

Recently Eswatini campus hosted the regional Academic Body meetings at Nkonyeni where the academic teams from BLE met to discuss policies, make resolutions and plan the calendar of events for next year. This session coincided with an mou signing between IPM and IDM Eswatini for the provision of training programs. We look forward to a fruitful collaboration.

IDM mourns Sipho Mbebe

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the untimely passing of IDM Director of Corporate Services, Mr Sipho Baphethuxolo Mbebe. He passed away on Sunday 2nd July 2023. Mr Mbebe has been a valuable member of the IDM ExCo since his appointment in July 2008 as the Director of Corporate Services.

MOU signing of Matsapha Town Council and IDM Eswatini

Matsapha Town Council and the Institute of Development Management signed an mou recently that aims to be mutually beneficial to the two entities for capacity building and for collaboration.
The agreement was signed at the Matsapha Town Council chambers. Speaking at the event Dr Mabila IDM Country Director said Matsapha Town Council should not limit themselves to the sourcing of skills for development locally but also open up to the tripartite in which IDM operates (Botswana, Lesotho and Eswatini). IDM is turning 50 next year and the regionality is yet to live on.

IDM REACHES OUT TO PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS

IDM Botswana Campus recently participated at the Botswana Human Resource Development Skills Fair and Career Clinics in an effort to take their services to the people. Held in Gaborone at Ditshupo Hall, the career fair brought students, tertiary education providers and other stakeholders under one roof for ease of engagement and networking.

Beginners tax course launched in Eswatini

IDM has officially launched a Beginners Tax Certificate in collaboration with Eswatini Revenue Service today at the IDM's emporium hall.

The Beginners Tax Certificate programme is for anyone interested in learning about the principles of domestic taxes, including tax compliance in Eswatini. It is billed to be a 12 weeks programme delivered on Saturdays on campus. It is safe to say, applications are officially open for this programme. Happy learning and start thinking ahead!

CIPS Orientation 2023

IDM hosted a student orientation session for new students enrolling in Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS).

CIPS is a professional programme recognized globally for promotion and development of high standards in the field of procurement and supply chain management.

IDM Management welcomed learners to the auspicious event and also provided them with insights on campus operations with the aim of exposing them to the learning environment at the campus.

IDM Runs 2 day Workshop about Leadership on Strategy Implementation for LUCT Management

IDM has recently completed a two (2) day workshop training for Limkokwing University of Creative Technology(LUCT) Management under Leadership on strategy implementation.

As we all know, managers are charged with key responsibilities to oversee optimal utilization of resources such as budgets, facilities, time, people and expertise.

As such there is need for managers to acquire and hone their leadership and management skills to ensure that the organization they lead is successful and realizes its mandate as well as to achieve its set strategic goals.

IDM Short Course Offering

IDM just recently completed a 5 day short course training in Project Management for Uhuru Lesotho staff members.

Project management has proven to be the most effective method of delivering products within cost, schedule, and resource constraints.

This course gives participants the skills to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget while giving the user the product/service they expect.

IDM welcomes 2023 cohort

The Institute of Development Management welcomed new students during the orientation day that was held at the institution’s auditorium. The January incoming class is comprised of students in the Human Resource Management department and Business & Information Resources Management department. The IDM orientation 2023 was aimed at acquainting new students with each other and the larger campus community, including faculty and staff.

Public Health department signs agreements with 2 Ministries

IDM has signed two Mou’s in December 2022 which will be operational in the coming new year. These agreements fall under the Public Health Management department at IDM Eswatini. The first was with the Ministry of Agriculture which will be
 for the usage of labs for research and development purposes. The Ministry mentioned that it currently has 2 labs one for food safety and the other for food technology. PS Sydney Simelane said there was need for quality control as we do not want to experiment with people’s lives.
