IDM HOSTS ITS 17TH JOINT GRADUATION CEREMONY

The Institute of Development Management (IDM) held its 17th Joint Graduation Ceremony at Royal Aria in Tlokweng on the 24th of Novemver 2023. The event was thronged by multitudes from Botswana, Lesotho and Eswatini. Held under the theme: Embracing Mind-set Change: Celebrating 49 years of Regional Transformation, the ceremony saw the conferment of 1569 Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates to graduands who majestically ascended the stage to honor their achievement.
 

Lesotho engages High School Principals on leadership and management training

As part of its Corporate and Social Responsibility initiative, Lesotho Campus hosted a Leadership and Management workshop at Cenez High School in September 2023. The training targeted more than 80 High School Principals from Maseru and Berea District under the theme; ‘Improving Organizational Efficiency and Accountability’.

IDM recognizes excellence

Four young achievers who performed beyond expectations in Computer Studies, Office Procedures and Business Studies during the 2022 BGCSE were recently celebrated by the Institute of Development Management. 
 

A Night to Remember: IDM-E 2023 Fresher’s Ball

 
The Student Representative Committee (SRC) hosted the 2023 Fresher’s Ball event to welcome their freshmen to the Institution.
 Every aspect of the event was tailored to ignite the spirits and passion of our first year students, making it a day etched indelibly in their hearts as they start their college life. Attendees on the day all looked exquisite dressed in their vivid array of colours, matched with smiles and boundless excitement as they came to bear witness to the enthralling event.

IDM Eswatini thrills at the trade fair

It was a hive of activity at the IDM stand during this year's annual Trade fair held in Mavuso Trade Centre. His Majesty the King Mswati III visited the IDM stand during the opening ceremony on Saturday and again on the Thursday-this time with guests.

The Institute of Development Management (IDM) hosted scores of students at Gaborone and Francistown Campuses on the 7th and 10th August 2023 for their Freshman orientation day.
 

IDM TRAINS BOTSWANA DEFENCE FORCE (BDF) ON THE INTERNATIONAL PUBLIC SECTOR ACCOUNTING STANDARDS (IPSAS)

IDM's commitment to advancing the government's national agenda has been confirmed by the Institute’s ability to respond to its varied customer base. In order to address the skills gap at the various government departments and enable them to report in accordance with the international accounting standards, IDM recently trained Botswana Defence Force on the International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS). This program was designed to equip practitioners with required knowledge and skills to improve the financial accounting system.
 

Gungwe Primary School lauded for good results

Francistown Campus Manager, Elijah Moakofhi has commended Gungwe Primary School for attaining a 100% pass rate in the 2022 Primary School Leaving Examinations (PSLE). Speaking at an event held to celebrate the school achievement recently, Mr Moakofhi noted that the school emerged the winner despite competing with private schools in the region.
 

Botswana Campus has been certified BOS ISO 9001: 2015

Botswana Campus has been certified BOS ISO 9001: 2015. IDM was lauded for the great feat, and described as ‘a deserving institution’ by the Botswana Bureau of Standards (BOBS) Director, Commercial Enterprises, Mr Keeper Morgan. He said the certification enhances an organization’s credibility by showing customers that its products and services meet their expectations.

IDM and Botlhole Law Group launch a partnership

In the quest to address the need for human capital development and capacity building in the realm of privacy and data protection, the Institute of Development Management (IDM) and Botlhole Law Group have entered into an agreement.
The Data Protection Act, which regulates the processing of personal data, came into effect in October 2021. Notably, personal data is the lifeline of all organisations, both governmental and non-governmental organisations, therefore all organisations processing personal data are required to ensure compliance within the transition period of the Act.
