The 12th joint graduation ceremony is billed for Friday 30th of November 2018.The event will take place in Manzini at the Mavuso trade centre’s hall 1. Rehearsals on the 29th will start from 2pm for the local students and from 4pm for groups arriving from outside the country.

Student invitation cards, academic hoods and college belts will be distributed through the in-country admissions teams from the month of October.

The ceremony is held under the theme Growing great minds; building a lasting legacy which seeks to evoke introspection and appreciation of the journey thus far, the mark made by the institute’s presence in the region and possible future aspirations of the institute.

IDM was founded in 1974. It is a regional institution which was formed to provide in-service training to public workers. IDM has since evolved to offer pre service training. Programme offerings range from Certificate through to Masters level. IDM offers some of its content through international collaborations and partnerships with entities such as Bolton University, University of Namibia, Boitekanelo College, NCC and CIPS to further enrich its programmes.

It is expected that over 600 students from Botswana, Lesotho and Eswatini campuses will be conferred with under graduate and post graduate qualifications.

IDM hosts its annual graduations on a rotational basis between the three countries. In 2016 Lesotho campus hosted the joint ceremony, Botswana in 2017 and Eswatini is expected to host this year. This unique arrangement allows for the graduands to interact and establish networks and possible future collaborations.

IDM Regional Director, Richard Malikongwa says the Institute remains relevant to Botswana, Lesotho and Eswatini. "We thrive to be a game-changer in the SADC region and beyond. Each year we commit to producing talent that is well sort by companies of repute around the world. We endeavor to take our three economies to greater heights."
